Virtual CD Manager for MAC

Virtual CD Manager... A portion of your My Passport or My Book drive has been used for creating a Virtual CD (VCD). The VCD contains the WD SmartWare software, the encryption and passcode protection application, User Manuals and other resource files. The VCD appears on your computer screen every time you connect your WD to it. It looks just like a CD volume.

If you want to install WD SmartWare, or if your drive has password protection and encryption features, the VCD is required.

You can disable the VCD if you don't want to use WD SmartWare. You can re-enable the VCD by running VCD manager.
