remux, based on the FFmpeg utility, is a simple macOS application that allows you to convert media files into common file formats and offers batch processing capabilities. The remux app can be used to quickly create MKV and MP4 videos, M4V or VOB media files.
The remux app is easy to use because it has a very intuitive workflow. You can choose to process one file or multiple files within the main window. Once you have imported the items to be processed, you can view their type, used codec and their language in the main window of remux.
To launch the process, simply select the output format from the drop-down menu and hit the "Go" or the "Start" buttons. You can also re-encode data using one of the supported codescs.
You can choose to use a different file format for each output file in the remux "Batch Processing" tab, even if all files will be converted at once.
You can also change the output folder from the same area. However, remux cannot support sending converted files to other directories.
remux offers a minimalist, intuitive user interface that allows you to use the FFmpeg tool to convert media files into other popular formats and make them accessible on multiple devices.
Overall, the remux application is very user-friendly, can handle multiple files at once, and can get the job done without much interaction.
