The installer places the driver in addition to an optional menu in your status bar. This allows you to quickly access frequently used functions and also provides a System Preferences panel that offers different customization options.
The Nvidia Quadro & GeoForce Driver pane allows you to quickly choose which driver you want to use: the default OS X Graphics Device Driver or the NVIDIA Graphics Driver.
You can also enable Error Correction Codes (ECC) if your graphics card model supports it. You can also check for any updates to the driver software so that you always have the most current version.
Even if the default OS X Graphics Driver can be used, it is recommended to install the Nvidia Quadro & GeForce Driver if you want the full card capabilities. You can clear your Mac's NVRAM to fix any issues. The system will then reboot and restore the original drivers.
