Preferential Treatment This application was developed from a discussion at www.macintouch.com. It will inspect your preference files (both your user's and the system's) for corruption using the "plutil command line tool.

If it finds suspicious files, it will list them and allow you to reveal them in Finder. Double-clicking on a file in the list of found files will open it in the program of your choice. You can also choose the default application from your preferences. You can also save the scan results to a text document.
