Packages allows you to create distribution and installation packs.

Who is it for?

Imagine that you are a software developer and now it is time to ship your project. You may also be an administrator who needs to install a plugin on Mac computers in your network. Packages is the flexible and powerful solution you are looking for when you need to create an OS X distribution or installation package.

Packages allows you to specify which applications, bundles of documents, folders, or files should be included in your payload and where they should go. You can also set permissions, groups and owners for the payload items upon installation. You can also import existing packages to add them to your distribution.

Presentation Editor

Packages allows you to localize and set the customizable panes for your distributions using its WYSIWYG editor. It's now easier than ever to see how your distribution looks in different languages. Installer plugins can be added to your distribution.

Enhancements:

• Updated the CPU requirements UI to take into account new possible CPU configurations.
• Updated the RAM requirements UI to take into account new possible RAM configurations.
• Better support for Catalina/Mojave OS version numbers in the OS requirements UI.
• Services Users and Groups are now hidden by default. They can be displayed through an option in the Files preferences pane.

Fixed:

• An offset was incorrectly computed when preserving extended attributes and the com.apple.FinderInfo attribute was MIA.
• The identifier setter option of packagesutil was not working correctly. Thanks to v-sypayr for the report and investigation.
