MPlayer for MAC

MPlayer It is a movie player that runs on many different systems (see documentation). It can play most MPEG/VOB and AVI formats. VideoCD, SVCD and DVD can be viewed.

Another great feature is the large number of supported output drivers. It supports X11, Xv and SVGAlib. fbdev, AAlib and DirectFB. However, you can also use GGI, SDL (and all their drivers), VESA (on any VESA compatible card, even if you don't have X11!) ATI, Matrox, 3Dfx, and DGA are some of the low-level card-specific drivers. Many of them support hardware scaling or software scaling so you can watch movies in fullscreen.

MPlayer supports display through certain hardware MPEG decoder boards such as the DVB, DXR2 or DXR3/Hollywood+. MPlayer features an OSD (onscreen display) that displays status information, large antialiased subtitles, and visual feedback for keyboard control. European/ISO 8859-1.2 (Hungarian English, Czech, etc), Cyrillic, and Korean fonts are supported. 12 subtitle formats are also supported (MicroDVD SubRip OGM, SubViewer Sami, Sami, RT, SSA and AQTitle. Supported are also DVD subtitles (SPU streams and VOBsub), as well as Closed Captions.
