FUSE is a third-party file system that allows you to extend OS X’s native file-handling capabilities. It is a successor of MacFUSE, which is no more being maintained.
If you install the MacFUSE compatibility layer, the FUSE software package will allow you to use any third-party file systems that are written on top of FUSE or MacFUSE. You can use FUSE for macOS SDK as a developer to create many types of file systems. These file systems can contain content from any source: local disk, across the network, memory, or any combination thereof.
This package will install FUSE for macOS's runtime and development components. This package does not contain FUSE for macOS-based files systems.
