CellProfiler Analyzer (CPA), allows interactive exploration of and analysis of data, especially from high-throughput, image based experiments. Its most prominent feature is the supervised machine-learning system ("Classifier"), which can be trained to recognize complex and subtle phenotypes. This allows for automatic scoring of millions upon millions of cells. CPA offers tools for exploring and analysing multidimensional data, especially data from high-throughput image-based experiments that were analyzed with its companion image analysis software CellProfiler.
The Broad Institute Imaging Platform is where the CellProfiler project is located. It was initiated by Anne E. Carpenter, Thouis Jones, and Polina Golland, at the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research.
