About BlogAssist For MAC

Note that BlogAssist is no longer available for purchase.

BlogAssist makes website editing and weblog creation easier by simplifying HTML markup.

There are three ways you can use it: you can choose one or all three.

  • The System menu: BlogAssist places a small menu on the right-hand sidebar of all applications. Simply select and copy text to the clipboard. Next, choose the appropriate operation from the menu and then paste it in the desired place. It will transform the text like magic. Copying hey, and choosing bold will produce hey , which is the HTML tags for boldface text wrapped around the original text.
  • The Services menu: BlogAssist is also available in the Service menu. This menu is available in most applications. This panel is very easy to use. To display a small panel, simply select some text and hit Cmd-. Select an operation and click OK. The marked up text will be dropped back into your document. The panel also shows the previously copied text. This is useful for operations such as Web Link, which use two values. You can copy a URL and then select the text you want to use for the link label. Hit Cmd- to choose the operation and click ok.
  • The Floating Window - This is similar to Services menu panel but can be left open for as long as you wish. It floats above all windows and is always accessible. It can be hidden or shown using the BlogAssist menu. Drag text to the floating window, select an operation from the pop-up menu and then drag the formatted HTML to the Result field. This window, like the Services panel has a preview of how HTML will look on a Web page.

BlogAssist comes with several useful operations, including Web and e-mail links, bold/italics/strikethrough/etc, LiveJournal tags, and more. You can also add, modify, or delete them using the Operations Preferences.
