If you can imagine a game that combines Pictionary and Scrabble, you would get PictoWords, an enjoyable word Mac game made for all ages. Given pictures and letters to form words will give your mental fitness a good workout. The game board is a bright, modernistic and steely blue surface. The splash of color does not distract from your play and gives it a decorative appeal to an otherwise plain board. The round frames are letters and the squares represent pictures. The play begins with both pictures and letters offered to you. Your job is to form as many words as fast as possible using the square pictures and round letters by clicking on the tiles presented. After submitting the words, they will fill in the blank squares and circles above. You will find a picture of a star and the letter K click on them and form the word 'stark'. That's how simple it could be, but it does get more difficult. You can use just the pictures, just the letters, and pictures and letters combined. If you do not use the hints, submit answers fast, present longer words, solve all the possibilities, and get the bonus word, it will get you more points. For the bonus word the definition, often times esoteric in their meaning, will be given to you. In addition, there is a bonus round you fill in a phrase with the pictures and letters. This game will challenge the usual word game, but will be doable and breaks up the play.PictoWords is a pleasant game made for all ages to play alone or possibly with a friend or parent. It could be fun to guess some of the words together. I found this game easy to follow with very few obstacles. One thing that slowed me down was trying to figure out exactly what the picture represented, but once you get past that you can speed through the words. I liked the simple graphics since it helped you see the pictures and letters clearly. The applause and fireworks after completing a level or getting extra points were appreciated but not necessary. Enjoy a fun evening playing PictoWords by yourself or with others.
